Factory Audit (FA)

Inspection of a factory

If you have selected a factory or you are already doing business with a factory, and you want to have a complete profile of this factory in a quick and affordable manner, a Factory Audit (FA) is recommended, in order to check its reliability.

A Factory Audit covers the following aspects as standard:

  • Factory Profile & Location/ Business Location
  • Organisation & Production Process
  • Production Lines & Capacity
  • Factory Facilities & Machinery

It is also possible to expand an inspection to include:

  • Quality System and Certificates
  • Hygiene & Safety
  • Social Responsibility (Personnel)
  • Supplier inspection
  • Product Development & Sampling
  • Environmental Aspects

First Article Inspection  (FAI)

Checking first production

Just before beginning production or while starting it, we check the production process to ensure that everything is in accordance with your specifications and wishes. Immediate adjustments are made where necessary. This checking secures an efficient start and immediately rules out any possible miscommunication.

This part of the inspection is applied when 0 to 10% of the total order goes into production or has been produced.

During Production check (DPC / DUPRO)

Inspection during production

Continuous checks are carried out during the production process as to how your product is being produced. If necessary, we intervene immediately to ensure that the process continues to proceed optimally, and you are guaranteed the required quality and delivery time.

This part of the inspection is performed when approximately 20% to 50% of the total order has been produced.

Pre-Shipment Inspection (PSI)

Final check before shipment

A sample with which you are very satisfied does not form any guarantee that the eventual end product will be good or that the entire production will proceed satisfactorily. Before the goods are loaded and shipped, inspections are carried out on the basis of the specifications drawn up by you as to whether everything meets the required quality.

This part of the inspection commences at the moment approximately 80% to 100% of the total order has been produced.

Container Loading Check (CLC)

Supervision during loading

Our highly qualified inspectors supervise your products while they are being loaded into the containers. This also involves checks to ensure that all the goods you have ordered are actually being loaded. Above all, there is constant supervision to ensure that everything is loaded carefully and properly. Finally, the containers are personally sealed by our inspectors. The container itself is also subjected to a thorough inspection.

This part of the inspection is performed when 100% (less rejections) of the total order has been produced.

Extensive Support

Custom inspections / audit

This support is adjusted wholly in accordance with your wishes and needs. We also provide you with follow-up advice in the case of complex matters and issues, so that your interests are represented. We support you personally with our extensive experience and expertise in the areas of quality, purchasing and China. In this way, we work to improve your production process, with an eye on the relationship between you and the factory; the long-term relationship is our primary concern.

Thanks to personal supervision and by making use of our knowledge and expertise, we can offer the best quality control in the entire process.

Benefits of inspections

The benefits lie in the certainty that your order meets your wishes and specifications.

Another benefit is the prevention of problems which can occur during production, as a result of which the process can suffer delays. If no checks whatsoever take place, you could be surprised when you open the container on arrival, and by then the damage is already done.

  • Demonstrating to your supplier and clients that you place great value on quality
  • Certainty of quality

What are the benefits of Loading Supervision?

  • That learning takes place with suitable care, to prevent damage
  • That the quantities are the same as those on the packing list.
  • Not finding any surprises in the container; our experts seal the container
  • Certainty of quality

What are the benefits of a Factory Audit?

  • Check the experience of suppliers
  • Compare potential suppliers
  • Check certificates prior to production
  • Know exactly what the situation is before production starts

What are the benefits of Extensive Support?

  • Customer orientation; personal contact with a permanent point of contact, and the aftercare desired

Why a quality control?

Checks and inspections carried out by Quality Control China provide certainty that your order will meet the set requirements, specifications and wishes.

At the same time, problems are prevented which could occur during production, resulting in delays to the production process. As a result, you can be sure that the delivery time will be met and you will be able to keep your word to your customers.

If you do not have checks carried out, opening the container on arrival is a big surprise each time. The damage has already been done, and could have been prevented with our inspections.

During the production of your product and the delivery to the end customer, there are many transfer moments between the various parties. As an importer, you face the most risk during these transfer moments.

  • Active in China for more than 15 years
  • Inspections carried out throughout China
  • Our inspectors are fully qualified high-quality engineers
  • We only work for China importers
  • Knowledge in China, point of contact in the Netherlands

It is generally known, but it is also our experience, that many Chinese manufacturers make concessions during or at the end of production. Both in the case of initial orders and repeat orders. The reason for this is to save money. Manufacturers do this by using cheaper and lower quality materials, by paying less attention to quality and thus limiting dropouts, the use of cheaper and less qualified personnel and speeding up production.

Additionally, general quality standards in China are lower than they are in the West. Staff turnover at Chinese businesses is an average of approximately 23% per annum. That is an extremely high figure. Unfortunately, this causes problems with regard to your repeat orders. In short: things that went well last time can cause problems the next time.

Why subcontract a quality control?

As an importer, you know your way around China, have been doing business successfully in China and, over the years, have managed to find your preferred suppliers, with which you are satisfied. You travel to China occasionally and travel your ‘set route’.

It would seem to be logical that, because the last shipments all went reasonably well, you can assume that the same will apply to the next shipments.

However problem areas, such as lack of time, other obligations, tiring travel, long days at the factory and high travel and accommodation expenses could be your downfall in terms of being certain of the quality.

You also want to plan your journeys in good time, but for various reasons there are often disruptions to production, as a result of which you have to change your flight schedule and your day-to-day timetable, or you will not be able to check the final products on site.

You are familiar with the concept of quality control, and as you know this is a must in China. So why tie yourself in knots if there is a much better alternative, namely quality inspections by Quality Control China?

Sourcing-agent

A sourcing agent or trading company can be of great benefit when it comes to finding the right manufacturer. This expertise is extremely desirable in the area of culture, language and negotiating methods. In most cases, however, they are not QC inspectors, or have other interests. For example, because they get a commission if they bring in new customers. So make sure you are not ‘marking your own paper’. An independent third party with good inspectors, such as Quality Control China, is needed for a professional inspection.

Quality control in China

Quality Control China checks and inspects products in terms of the desired quality and correctness; it is commissioned to do this for companies throughout China. This means that the client itself never needs to go to China, but is nevertheless assured a professional inspection.

We have been working for businesses and importers which purchase goods in China for more than 15 years. Our clients range from new start-ups to companies which have already been coming to China for decades and already know their way around.

Companies which are already familiar with doing business in China know that the major risks lie in the transfer moments. Thanks to our services, risks become manageable and minimised.

For this reason, Quality Control China is in high demand as a partner. Quality Control China works throughout China for importers from around the world.

Working method

A check is carried out on site on the basis of the drawn-up specifications.

After we have received your contact details, we contact you to schedule an appointment. This appointment is an introductory meeting at which you can inform us of your requirements, we will let you know what we can do for you.

We have a checklist which is put together for each check, in which your wishes are central. A check is carried out on site on the basis of these specifications.
If there are any complications, you are contacted as quickly as possible, and follow up steps agreed in consultation. After the inspection/audit, you receive an extensive report which lists all our findings, including extensive photo report. We send to you any photos which are not included in the report. Our reports are easy to read and are very comprehensible.
