Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)

Independent agency created by the United States government in 1972 to evaluate products in an effort to prevent consumers from being harmed by defective workmanship. The Consumer Product Safety Commission (www.cpsc.gov) also works with product developers to establish and abide by uniform safety practices that must be implemented before a product can be introduced to the general public.
